Equilibrium Empty

Equilibrium

Wrapped in a cloak of contentment
Basking in a sea of bliss
Radiating in happiness
Pure ecstasy is this

Swaddled in love and warmth
Bereft of worry and woes
How long can it last?
Who knows

Flying as high as a kite
Twisting and turning with glee
Bright and vivid colours
Without melancholy

Riding the crest of a wave
Completely balanced and in control
Exhilarated with natural power
Lifting your soul

Shrouded in a suit of armour
Cumbersome and heavy limbed
Dark grey clouds forming
Tears sting, and brim

Rain falls in torrents
Mounting gloom and doom
Solace and isolation
Lethargy looms

Mingled in the crowd
Hordes and hordes of people
Yet feeling so alone
A church without its steeple

Zest for life gone
Nothing on which to focus
A stranger gives a smile
Although, its not noticed

True to life feelings
Assembled into rhyme
The lower you get
The higher you have to climb

Could it be fair to say
That we've all been there and done it
Reached up for the skies
Then tumbled from the summit

Its picking up the pieces
We find the hardest part
Not knowing where to begin
Or even how to start

For sure it won't be easy
And it could well take a while
Taking small steps forward
Each feeling like a mile

But keep going don't despair
Every day will improve
Take heart from those around you
For they only wish to soothe

Every cloud has a silver lining
Ok, not always true
But rest assured, what your feeling
Someone else is too

Whether happy and glad
Or despondent and blue
Its all part of life’s
Emotions, to name but a few

No more I've been there and done it
And now its your turn
More like, yes that happened to me
And together we'll learn

To maintain equilibrium
And for well being strive
Take each day as it comes
Slowly start to revive

I guess in essence
What I'm trying to say
Is perhaps its really not so bad
To be feeling simply 'ok'

My favourite word is Equilibrium. You have balanced your verse to fit that ever essential word. Your verse is true to your name.
