| Walk towards the seashore and choose a comfy rock. Pick a pebble that is round and stuff it in your sock. Walking could be painful so you'll just have to sit, Relax upon you're chosen rock and breathe a little bit.
Close your eyes, breathe steadily, hear the crashing waves. Forget the sock you're wearing, it isn't yours, it's Dave's. Hear the shingle move about, the seagulls high above. Let go all your worries and fill your heart with love.
Can you hear a mermaid? Her voice is very sweet. She's bobbing up and down to see who's sitting on her seat. If you're sure she's really there looking at you now, Open up an eye and look, then take a gentle bow.
DO NOT STARE, she's prone to be, a timid little thing. If she's sure you're pure of heart she'll honour you and sing. Her songs are all about her life, beneath the deep blue sea. Of fish and wondrous creatures, unkown to you and me.
When you're sure she's finished, she'll beckon you to speak, Asking you to make a wish and tell her what you seek. For mermaids they are magic, the fairies of the sea. They can do amazing things for folks like you and me.
I made my wish one sunny day, sitting on a rock. I didn't even notice, the pebble in my sock. What it was i wished for is not for me to tell. The mermaid sweet and honest, wove a wondrous spell.

Written some years ago, Tongue in cheek, New Agey, how we place obstacles in our own way. She did actually weave a spell, but I am not going to tell. Not yet anyway. | |
