New Carer's Credit

For those caring for disabled people for 20 hours or more a week will be able to get Carer's Credit. This has been introduced to take effect from 6 April 2010. The Carer's Credit is a new National Insurance credit and not a benefit payment. It means thousands more carers will be able to build up their basic State Pension.

Thanks for this Tricia, I am hoping the new government will increase the benefit a bit too. It really is poor for the hours we do.
