In my latest Touchbase information guide I note that there is an Energy Rebate Scheme in place. What it entails is the person must be 70 or over and in receipt of the guarantee credit element of the Pension Credit (no savings credit element) and also is responsible for their or partners own electricity bills. From what I have read it is to be a one off rebate of £80. From what I can also see it covers Scotland and Wales as well. To get further details visit
www.direct.gov.uk and then type in Energy Rebate Scheme in the search engine, or try this link which hopefully will stay active for quite sometime -

Although they say people will not need to claim, I would be double checking to ensure any member of your family or friends is aware of this rebate.
